LACAVA was founded in Chicago in 1997 by Carmine Lacava, who set out to bring Italy's tradition of artistically designed bathroom furnishings to the American market — the Mount Vesuvius on the company's logo nods to his roots in Naples. The brand blends that Italian design sensibility with American manufacturing: furniture is made in Chicago, hand-built by master craftspeople from solid wood and wood veneer rather than laminate, with dovetail drawer joints, and a 10-step finishing process across more than 20 finish options.
The bathroom sink range covers nearly every installation type — vessel, wall-mount, drop-in, semi-recessed, undermount, vanity-top, and pedestal — in materials spanning porcelain, solid surface, natural stone, and stainless steel, with shapes running from clean geometric rounds and squares to more organic, asymmetric forms. The Cube collection, an undermount line, runs from a compact 17" basin up to 36" trough sinks, while pieces like the Block wall-mount sink pair porcelain with clear glass for something more sculptural.
Nearly three decades in, LACAVA has picked up recognition from Interior Design magazine's Best of Year Awards and the NYC x Design Awards, along with BBB Complaint-Free honors in multiple recent years.
LACAVA is on display at the DJ Bath Plus Showroom.
