Where Craft Meets Light: Why Fantini’s Venezia Handles Are Redefining Decorative Hardware
At DJ Bath Plus, one of the things we’ve always appreciated about Fantini is how the brand evolves while staying true to its core design language.
Fantini demonstrates what it is to be a brand that evolves while staying true to its core design language. The latest Venezia handle release is a perfect example—an extension of the original collection that moves in a richer, more decorative direction while still feeling refined, restrained, and distinctly Fantini.
As Diego Zanatta, Business Development Manager for Fantini USA, explains, “Fantini is historically a modern line, very contemporary. All our lines were very soft and not overly decorated and the portfolio showcased proportion rather than a focus on elaborate details.”
Venezia represents a thoughtful evolution of that philosophy. The original collaboration with Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez introduced a fresh perspective for the Italian manufacturer, blending Fantini’s contemporary European aesthetic with the artistry of Venetian glassmaking. Rooted in Murano craftsmanship, the glass handles stood out for their depth, texture, and luminous quality, bringing a softer and more expressive layer to the bath. Zanatta adds, “Introducing Venezia really established Fantini as a design brand specializing in faucets.” That impact is easy to see in this latest release, which builds on the original concept with new forms, materials, and finish options that broaden the collection’s versatility across a wider range of interiors.
Design collaboration is a major part of the appeal behind Venezia. Fantini has long prioritized partnerships with influential architects and design teams, and that collaborative approach continues to set the brand apart within the luxury plumbing industry. Rather than simply responding to trends, Fantini approaches these collaborations as a true exchange of ideas—combining technical expertise, architectural thinking, and artisanal craft. With Venezia, that partnership feels especially significant because it introduces a more layered and decorative sensibility while maintaining the precision and discipline Fantini is known for. More broadly, collaborations like this reinforce the growing role of plumbing fixtures as integral design elements, not just functional components.
What makes Venezia especially relevant right now is how naturally it aligns with the shift toward more transitional interiors. While Fantini has historically been associated with clean-lined modernism and minimal European design, Venezia introduces warmth, texture, and character without losing its architectural clarity. It’s a balance many designers are actively looking for as projects move beyond spaces that feel overly stark or strictly contemporary.
From a specification standpoint, Venezia integrates seamlessly with collections like Fantini Aboutwater, Fantini Milano, and Fantini Icona Deco. The handles add another layer of refinement—whether softening a more architectural fixture or introducing a subtle focal point within a minimal space.
We see this collection becoming especially valuable for interiors that need distinction without feeling overdesigned. The glass options interact beautifully with light and add depth, while the metal finishes offer a more tonal or classic approach depending on the palette and overall direction of the project.
We’re excited to now have the Venezia handles on display in the showroom and highly recommend experiencing them in person. The clarity of the glass, the weight of the pieces, and the way the finishes interact with surrounding materials are details that truly come to life firsthand. For upcoming projects, Venezia is a thoughtful option to consider—not just as a functional detail, but as a design element that brings craftsmanship, character, and intention into the space.
